Hello I'm in San Francisco
I had: DSL and some kind of motorola box that i've had for years. & Motorola VT2442 Vonage phone adaptor
Connected to my PC with window's xp. Vonage working great, internet working great.
I bought a laptop and Linksys WRT54GS with speedbooster to create a wireless network/wireless internet. Connected DSL -> Vonage -> Router ->PC
I cannot for the life of me get internet on my PC. So I was doing some testing and connected back down to just the DSL box and Vonage on my PC, and it no longer works. My internet is definitely working. So, I'm stumped.
Would it have anything to do with the fact that my PC died and needed a new harddrive in the middle of all this? Hardly I think.
Anyways I'm stumped.
Do i just need to go out and pay $100 for a Motorola VT2542? Will that solve all my problems?
Soooo frustrating!
thank you! |

Most people here would set up the routers the other way.
DSL -> Router -> Vonage and PCs
I would give this a look:

You will need to reconfigure the Vonage device to not act as a DHCP Server.
This type of setup will allow your Vonage device to just be a Voip device and let the WRT54GS act as the router for all of your connections. |

Also, make sure that the LAN side address ranges on the two routers are different. I believe that they both default to 192.168.15.xxx, and that will make a problem. Change one of them to 192.168.16.xxx . |
