I am just so frustrated and just dont know where to start.....
Well here goes....I have a RTP300 router (5.01.04) connected to my Linksys WRT54GS router using Comcast.....I recently moved 2 miles and now I have nothing but problems. I pay for the 8mb/786k HSI package but I get nowwhere near that w/my current hookup. My testymyvoip results tell me port 5060 is blocked, needs to test on alternate port, and my score is like 1.4. According to the test results, from BOS, I have a 1.4 mos score, going to BOS I have the 4.2. I had near perfect score before I moved here. Currently I have the RTP device connected directly to the cable modem and I ran the Vonage speed test and it shows a 3.6 mos score w/and QOS of 45%. Also running the testmyvoip test now , I do not get the port 5060 error message. In the linksys router I had QOS setup pointing to the Vonage mac address, port 10000, 5060 etc...here at my new location, none of this works...
I disconnected all devices and ran the cable line directly to the only outlet, disconnecting the tv cable. Speed test were thru the roof. Swapped out splitter, seemed to solve issues, but then back to slowness. Ping and tracerts are ALWAYs good. I then slowly started adding devices, my router seems to slow things down a little, then adding the Vonage device slowed it down more. Still testing and my numbers are terrible.
Is the RTP300 still s decent router? Is it possible to ask for an new hardware from Vonage?
None of this probably makes sense, Im tired, Im drinking Smile ..ugghh

Two ideas when I had a similar problem. Your solution may vary.
(1) Download the most current firmware for the router. Mine would start out fast and slow down to almost zero.

(2) Did you change modem when you moved? I once had a good one replaced (upgraded) to a bad one, that performed with the same difficulty you have having.

Like I say, this may not help, and if not, someone will send a better idea.

let me get this first is your setup like this:modem->wrt54gs->rtp300..
for that i suggest to re configure your setup make it as modem->rtp300->wrt54gs..and if it slows you connection on your wireless router.do a port forwarding from the rtp300 to your wrt54gs..or much better set it to dmz on your rtp300.so that it won't block any ports on your router.

(1) I use a 3rd party firmware, and I have the latest. I actually downgraded, thinking the latest was causing the problems. I had changed my QOS settings when I flashed the router w/the latest firmware but when I reverted back to the older firmware,( I had previously saved a backup configuration file) I STILL get an error that port 5060 is unreachable.

(2) When I moved I transferred the equipment to my new home. The tech brought in new equipment thinking I was a new install, I looked at the new modem and I asked him if it was better than the Scientific Atlantic DPC2100 that I have and he said it wasnt, so we kept my year old router.

Yes I have it setup in the first example above. Yes I suppose I could give this a try but like I said before, this setup worked fine 2weeks and 2miles ago, thats what is driving me crazy.
