I'm running IPCop with Advanced QoS enabled and a VTA-VD vonage adapter using Charter cable with 10MB down, 1MB up.
In my rule set for Advanced QoS, I've put the IP address of the vonage adapter in my highest settings with reserved bandwidth. However, it is still very spotty when I have other traffic (specifically throttled down).
Does anyone have any suggestions on configuration changes I could make to improve my quality? |

Can you post your actual QoS configuration? |

Crap, the table didn't format right. I'll try to make it more readable and post shortly. |

That worked fine, thanks.
What I would recommend is removing OpenVPNup from 101 and just leaving VonageUp in there. Put VPN in 100 if you want. Other than that the config looks ok.
What I can suggest though, is to run some speed tests to make sure you're really getting the upload speed you think you should be getting. QoS applications don't just reserve bandwidth, they only invoke traffic prioritization when there is congestion. So, if you say your maximum upload speed is 800Kbps, but you really only get 400, you could actually be experiencing congestion, but QoS won't kick in because the router doesn't believe its necessary. |
