1.location:Bangalore, India
2. Your ISP name and type (cable, DSL, wireless etc): Hathway, Cable
3. Upload and download speeds: 123 kbps /214kbps
4. Modem make and model: scientific atlanta 2100
5. Type of Vonage adapter used ie RT31P2 or PAP2:VT2442
6. Setup of Network :Modem---->Vonage Adapter-->PC
7. Issue you are experiencing ie dropped calls, choppy audio etc:Unable to setup Vonage adapter

Hi,
I am trying to configure the Vonage adapter but the red power light keeps blinking and I am unable to connect to the internet through this. Please help me with the instructions to set up. I tried setting the WAN settings with the network settings. It didnt work.

First off, with your upload, if you do get Vonage to work, you will need to drop your bandwidth setting to normal because you don't have much to work with.

Second, red blinking powerlight means the device can't connect to the internet for some reason. A HUGE problem I see with your internet connection is your latency.

Maximum download pause: 566ms
Average download pause: 248ms
Minimum round trip time to server:288 ms
Average round trip time to server: 1274ms

Vonage can "catch" numbers up to 150, but anything over that is severe latency - so the device is probably not "responding" to the server in time.

If you contact your ISP are these numbers normal?

Dryinego, if you made that test with a computer plugged into the LAN side of the VT2442, try it with the computer plugged directly into your modem. If the results are as bad, then you've eliminated the Vonage box as the source of your problem.

The test couldn't be run through the LAN port on the Vonage device because the Vonage device wasn't getting online. It wouldn't have allowed him to test the internet.
