I think we all agree that the problem seems to be with the extender. However, just to be absolutely sure, have you tried the PAP2 in house 1 to verify consistently good performance? If you haven't, you shouild. |

Thanks for the tips. As for the extender, I agree that this is the culprit. I think that that signal that the extender is getting and re-broadcasting is simply too weak to begin with.
Yes, I did plug the adapter directly into the router in house 1 and as expected had no problems.
I think I might try a Cantenna aimed at the extender to see if this helps amp up the signal. (What do you think?)
If this is not a good idea or doesn't work if we try it, I will make the calls as you folks suggested to Vonage and Linksys.
Thanks again. |

A cantenna? The only cantenna I've ever heard of was a Heath company product. It was a dummy load; it absorbed power rather than transmitting it. If the thing you have is actually a directional antenna, it should help, provided you get it aimed correctly. |

What you are asking about is a directional antenna. Do a search for directional antennas and you should find some. The only problem is knowing what antenna connector you need. Linksys uses two or more connectors that are very similar.
Good luck. |
