AT&T buying Vonage, any truth to this rumor?
(I heard they are just waiting for all lawsuits to be settled) |

I have no idea, but it feel pretty unlikely. AT&T has a pretty popular Voip product already. My guess is that if anyone is going to buy Vonage it will be Sprint. I would hate to see that... |

2.5 million subscribers.. they own over 25% of the VOIP market if the usa article of 9.1 million voip users is accurate.
att does not want comcast or cable providers to pick up these customers and vice versa. someone will buy them once the the legal suits are settled. |

I am a Vonage Employee and I can assure you AT&T is not buying Vonage. Mainly for the simple reason being that we aren't for sale. Now that the Verizon case has been settled, we can continue to focus on providing customers with quality phone service and world-class customer support. On top of that we have a few surprises that we'll be revealing in the next year as well. |

Keep up the good work Vonage!
PLEASE, don't let AT&T get their hands on it. |

I couldn't agree with you more. It would be a smack in the face for Vonage to be bought out by the likes of AT&T. |

Of course, didn't I just hear this past week that AT&T is looking at suing Vonage for even MORE patent infringements? |

You did, but of the three (Sprint, Verizon, AT&T) AT&T was the least threat. Vonage has to be thrilled with how the big 2 went considering how it could have turned out. I can't see AT&T being much more than a bump in the road. |

I really don't mean you any disrespect at all, but that LAST people to know that a business is for sale are the ones that are actually down on their hands and knees doing the hard stuff.
I agree with you in so much as I don't think that Vonage will sell to AT&T, Sprint or Verizon, but I don't think that means that Vonage is not for sale. If a "proper" suitor came calling (someone who isn't the big 3) Vonage would be for sale in an instant.
I have always thought that if Vonage could get past the patent suits of the big 3 that they could make it. I still do, but I wouldn't be at all shocked if Vonage is bought out. |
