Hello,
Let me vent my frustration. I've been a customer of Vonage now for over 2 years. I see that Vonage offers new customers the Motorola VT2542 for 59.00 Well the only people that can order this online are people wanting to start with Vonage. I called the number listed and was told that is the sales department so I was politely transferred over to another individual in customer service I'm guessing. After being on hold, I was told I would have to order a 2nd phone line, then would be charged a new startup fee, I'd be charged shipping and handling of the new router plus of course pay for the router. He then told me OR i could go to a retail store and pay retail price for the router and skip the shipping and handling. This is bunk !
MR. Mike Snyder, CEO of Vonage, do you read these messages? Instead of busting your chops to get new customers, why don't you keep the customers you have happy and let word of mouth sell your product!!!!!! All I wanted to do is get the same deal you would give any new person off the street. Having the old wired router for over 2 years I think should allow me the same benefit as a new customer, but nooooooooooooooooo.
Oh, did I happen to mention that none of the stores around here have the Motorola VT2542? I can buy the Linksys brand or D-Link, but that is not the models I want. I want the model you offer NEW CUSTOMERS for at least that price !

I have a idea. Why don't I cancel my service with your company, then I can use your darn website to order the wireless router that I would like to purchase since I can't find it at a retail store for a retail price !

Mr. Mike Snyder, are you listening ??????????

Let me start by saying I agree with your principles. However, this seems to be the way of operation for all communications companies. Every company I know offers great deals to get people to sign up but stiffs the loyal customers. Can you name one company that isn't like this?

Laughing,

The only industry I can think of is the Funeral Business. They get your business once, but the renewals never happen.

People in here have reported getting upgrades if they call and explain that that's the price of Vonage keeping their business. You might want to try that if you haven't already.

Well I did get an upgrade but it wasn't equipment. I was able to get the premium unlimited for $14.99/month for a year. I don't really need it because I don't call out much but I figured why not. However, they didn't offer me this for being a loyal customer. Rather, I had to call and threaten to cancel my service to get a good deal. Nothing nasty. Just a simple: "I don't think I need the service anymore" line. I saw some posts on another forum that this had been working for a lot of people. So I thought I would give it a shot and it did work. So, tell them you want to cancel and you get a good deal. Tell them they have great service and remain a loyal monthly paying subscriber, Bend Over! Sad but true!

You want a new device just because you have been a customer for a long time? Ok then, I want you to do me a favor. After your done calling Vonage, take your 2002 honda to the dealer and say you want a 2008 cause you've had your car for a long time...duh
