Am in Vietnam and after almost a year of trouble free phoning. I moved to a new house and have twice turned on my DSL modem and VT2442 telephone adapter to get a red (turns most of the time to flashing green) flashing power light on my VT2442 and either the "no connectivity to the Vonage..." or the "not registered with the Vonage network" message.
To troubleshoot I searched old forums and found rebooting info and specific sequencing for a hard reboot. I tried that about six times, waiting 30+seconds and then reconnecting my DSL modem, waiting again, then my VT2442, then my computer. Today I took a long nap, left my equipment on, and like Rip Van Winkle awakened to a changed scene...power light is steady green and phone has dial tone. However I did go 3 days w/o phone connection.
What is happening? Any suggestions to prevent a recurrence?

Please give the rest of the technical details listed in the sticky message at the top of the forum.
When things were not working, were you able to connect to the internet using the modem -> VT2442 -> computer setup? If not, could you do so plugging the computer directly into the modem?
If it goes out again and the computer is able to connect to the internet, run the Voip speed test in that situation. |

The only time that light blinks red and that message plays is when it can not detect an internet connection from whatever device it is connected to. If it does happen again, make sure you check the dsl light on the dsl modem and make sure it isn't blinking. If it is, there is no internet connection. Oh, and be aware that Vonage does not support using the service outside of the U.S. |
