I'm a little confused.. are you waiting for a turn on of the assigned temporary number...thus making your service operational.. or are you waiting for your land line number to be transferred?
I had a dial tone and was making calls very shortly after I brought the unit home (had it shipped to work)...minutes to hook it up and I started calling... now incoming calls as I didnt do an immediate transfer go to the temp number..though really, forwarded from my land line....
I hope you get your issued resolved.. Alicia |

The number assigned to me is the same as the one on my existing cell phone. It is still in the control of my cellular phone company so I have to wait, and keep on paying Vonage until they transfer the number turn my service on. This is the only number they have given me except one for voice mail.
How can Vonage and Verizon both provide service at the same phone number? So far, every incoming call still goes to my cell phone. |

No, they both can not provide service on the same number...that is true...
I am surprised they didnt give you a temp number (virtual number) to use in the mean time...if you are absolutely sure, even though your acct is matched to your cell number, that there is no secondary number provided.. maybe have them give you one in the mean time..this way you can use most of the service ex outgoing calls while you are waiting for the number transfer.... |

This is NOT true. All customers that initiate a number port r given a Temporary Virtual Number, which MAY b used until the port is complete. If you r unaware of what yours is rfoehler, then u need to call customer care to find out what it is, but u DID receive it in the order confirmation email u received when u opened ur account. U can RECEIVE calls on ur Vonage phone line if someone calls ur TVN. Your Verzion number IS still active on your cell phone and calls to that number will still ring ur cell phone (as u r already aware of). It is only "associated" with your Vonage account until ur port is complete, then it becomes a full-fledged Vonage number. |
