Given what you've said, your diagnosis of a problem with the gate system software sounds right. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave us with a solution. |

Easy solution... Do not move into an area with a HOA that is not willing to upgrade to todays technology. I do appreciate all of your replies. Thanks again. |

I too am having this issue. When someone at the gate calls my phone, it rings and I need to press "9" to open the gate. Before Vonage, no problems. Now, I hit "9" and nothing happens, even after repeated attempts. I suspect that Vonage is not transmitting a long enough key tone for the gate system to pick it up. Is there a way to adjust the length of the key tone that Vonage transmits? |

Update: I tried using a cordless phone that emits a continuous tone when the key is held down, and the gate opened just fine. So it looks like that is what is necessary. |
