Traveling . . bought a v Phone - bad quality.. . also broughtt my RPT300 router with me. . . where I am staying they only have a regular phone ..with no caller id on it.
Any suggestions on how I can get caller id information?
I think when I use the v phone I can see the caller id info on the screen. . but then I can't pick up calls from the regular phone???
Open for any suggestions. . . hugs |

I don't think you have many options but to buy either a standalone caller id box or a new phone. Of course you can log into your online account and see who called but that doesn't help if you want to know the caller when the phone is ringing. |

Not sure why people are using the V-phone when Vonage has Vonage Talk program for free, but then again not everyone is able to receive calls on it. |

Bought the v-phone back in April when I left. .. just found out about this v-talk. .. downloading now. . . this might work. . . but if I have to use the ear buds that came with v-phone. . . that will not help.
Open for suggestions on a headset to buy. |

I bought a USB phone, but if I had my time back I would have bought a blue tooth headset. USB phone works great, but don't like being tied to the computer. |

As far as a bluetooth headset, I think the only criteria is that it will work with a PC. I am not sure what kind of range you are going to get with a blueetooth phone.
I would go with a Platronics, here in Canada they go for about $30.00 and they work on PC and Play Stations. Just make sure your PC/Laptop has bluetooth capability otherwise you need to buy a bluetooth adapter.
USB phone I have is a G-Trans USB phone only $40.00.
I have used the headset with microphone before, but I didn't like the sound quality. |

Ok, seeing that you are so smart . . . maybe you can help me with this???
I found a microphone I had with me. . . not too great I am sure. . . but its a mic.
So how do I hook that up and be able to use this talk. . . hands free???
Is the phone over riding it??? I can't see how seeing that if caller id came up and it let me answer the phone.
I tried fooling around with the settings but no luck. . . any suggestions? Do you think calling support would help??? |
