Vonage Talk is set up to ring when your Vonage line rings, you have the choice of answering either one, and yes it has Call display!
Now about the microphone you just plug that in the microphone port, I would suggest purchasing a good headset with microphone or usb phone (but you won't be handsfree).
When using a microphone and the computer's speakers you can get a lot of feed back.
Now for the set up options:
Open Vonage Talk Click on Tools top of page Click on preferences Click on audio
There you have 3 things to configure Input should be a drop down menu to choose from Output should be a drop down menu to choose from Ringing device I have this to come through my speakers
I hope this helps you out, once again purchase quality products to make your conversations on both ends work properly. |

I am very happy with my Vonage business account, but, if I needed to have a phone for travelling, I might get the magicJack USB device, http://www.magicjack.com , or I might go for the t-mobile wifi phone. |

The magicJack ( http://www.magicjack.com ) device costs $40, and a second year of service is $20, so if the company lasts for 3 months, you get your money's worth. I have a GrandCentral number, ( http://www.grandcentral.com/ ) and 3 Vonage numbers (two different area codes for voice, and a fax #) and a cell phone. The problem is that each number+device serve a different purpose. Ideally, I would like to be able to have one number for personal use that can be used over the internet AND over cell. |

I use magicJack. I use Vonage for my business, because it is more stable, and does not require a computer. I use magicJack for allowing my girlfriend to talk endlessly to her family without racking up cell phone minutes. MagicJack is great, but it should not be used for a business line.
If you have any other questions regarding my experience with both magicJack and Vonage, you may email me at cargojack @ skidbox.com
I use both magicJack and Vonage for different purposes and each does what it is supposed to do well. |
