When I had the Linksys RTP300, I could acces voicemails by dialing *123 and then just the PIN.

Now, with a new router/adpter, the Motorola VT4224, when I dial *123, I get the same message I get when I dial from a non-Vonage phone, and I have to add # plus my phone number + # and only then, the PIN.

That would not have been so terrible, but my Uniden allows only 20 characters for the one-key dialing to my voicemail.

Vonage tech service says this is how Motorola routers work. I just can't believe it. My order confirmation says *123 + PIN.

Does anyone know what I can do to rectify this?

*123 works fine with my VT2442. Have you tried re-booting it?

Have I ever. About 10 times today (while trying to log in to the old, secondary RTP300, which I never succeeded doing, in spite of extensive help from Vonage).

I wonder if there are any settings in the Motorola that can be changed to get the *123 to work?

Just to be sure, Steve: you can get into your voicemail by dialing *123 and then only the PIN?

Yes. I enter *123, hear a voice asking for the PIN, then enter the PIN only.

However, if I enter the PIN before the end of the voice message, it doesn't work. If you're using automatic dialing and can program in a delay after the *123, try that.

Sorry I did not answer before, Steve, but I get notification only sometimes. I start to feel that Vonage is flagging. I can also not send them a 'real' e-mail message, only one with a heading my phone number and that is it. No message area at all.

Now, the *123 works on the line I have connected to my second router, which is still a RTP300, but for the Motorola, I get a totally different message (the same, as I think I mentioned before, as you get when you call to retrieve messages from an outside line.

A Vonage tech rep told me that it is the way Motorola works. I pressed him, and he would call me back, which he never did, of course.

I will try again, as I have the executive team's phone number (had forgotten that I have it).

I know about entering 'pause' characters, which, as you say, is needed sometimes, and I had them before.

Thanks for your help, and I will call the ecxecutive team tomorrow.
