PostPosted: Tue Oct 02, 2007 6:21 am    Post subject: Is new "rate plan" change option pain free? Reply with quote Back to top

Hi

I am considering using the new on-line option to change my rate plan but am concerned about the stories of people who have changed plans in the past and suffered outages of some days before having their issues resolved.

Has anybody used this rate change option? Is it still painful or has all that gone away?

Many thanks all

Can you please provide details of this?

Thank you,

Hi Dan ..

Actually I can't supply anything specific right now. I'm convinced I have read posts along the lines of "I contacted customer support to change my plan and they had to set up a new account and as a consequence of which I've been down for x days".

However, I can't find any posts like that right now so hopefully any issues that did exist have gone away.

I'm now gonna request they change my plan from VPlan1 @ £7.99 to VPlan2 @ £7.99 (go figure Smile ).

I'll report back on how I get on. I hope it will be a positive experience as I am very happy with all other aspects of the service.

I've changed my rate plan on-line for two of my three vonage lines.

It was painless and worked immediately. I have virtual numbers that were happily unaffected.

However, I had recently changed the third line over to an annual plan 1 (when that was the only on-line option to change to inclusive international calls). When I tried to change that one, I received a warning that I would not get a credit for the unused annual plan payment. I guess I will have to wait for 10 months to avoid losing money.

Thanks Sheilsgx.

I bit the bullet and went for it last night. I just selected the rate plan I wanted and hit the submit button.

The system confirmed that there was no difference in price (i.e. £7.99 to £7.99 = difference of £0.00) and asked me to submit again .. which I did.

And that was that, job done. I printed off a screen as confirmation of what I had changed from / to but in fact Vonage sent me an email anyway confirming the change and the cost difference of NIL.

So fair play to Vonage I have logged in this morning and the billing section confirms I am on Rate Plan 2.

A pain free experience - nice one!

If you wish to change your rate plan it is immediate, there are no delays and no accounts shutting down. If there is a difference in price you will, of course, get charged immediately.
