he said they are working on a updated firmware

but for now the problem is that if you change the user login settings "router" "router" it will do that.... but if you leave that alone... all other settings will stay.

Mendel,

Have you had a chance to check your firmware version and test it to see if your settings were retained after a reboot?

I also purchased my VT2542 around mid July and have the same problems as everyone else (router looses configuration after reboot). My firmware is 11.4.1-r070201-1.3.2 -r1 and it has not changed for at least a month.

I was told they are working on a newer firmware (should come out in November) in the meantime, leave the default user login as router router and the settings should stay intact

My internet service was down for a couple of hours and I just knew that I would have to reconfigure the VT2542. To my surprise, all the settings were still intact...I didn't have to reconfigure the device. My firmware version is still the same, (11.4.1-r070201-1.3.2 -r1) so maybe it's been corrected without a firmware update?

Anyone else check theirs yet? I'm also running 11.4.1-r070201-1.3.2 -r1 but have always lost my settings with a power-down and power-up cycle and am afraid to test it out again.

My username and password are NOT set to the default "router." A reboot of the device no longer causes a loss of settings.
