Sometime during the last two weeks the firmware in my VT2542 was updated to version 12.0.1-r100422-1.9.2
I did not receive any advance announcement.
All my settings were lost. My network was left open and unsecured while I was traveling.
I was unable to restore my backed up configuration and had to reconfigure manually.
UPnP option has been removed, and I NOT do see the VT2542 on my network as a UPnP device and the router FAILS UPnP testing. I tested using Mark Gillespie’s UPnP Tester available here http://www.markgillespie.co.uk/?page_id=18 If you have programs that require UPnP over the Internet they are mostly likely not going to work.
I power failed the router 5 times and did NOT lose my settings.
The menus now have a different look. |
