I just received an e-mail from Vonage that my eMail address was changed to an other eMail address unknown to me !!! I changed it immediately back and changed my account password. Very uncomfortable with this situation. Called customer service and reported this. Requested to talk to a supervisor. Case was created. Monitor my account now for unusual behavior.
Nobody use my computer then me, cookies are cleared all the time, private network, firewall, etc.
Anybody out there experiencing the same ? Any thoughts ?

Were you on a call with a Vonage Tech Agent, and having trouble with a feature on your web account? I know when I worked there, some of the agents would change the acct email address to their own prior to changing a password, and then setting it back to default, then go onto the customers web account and modify whatever needed to be modified. The reason for this is a lot of the customers were either unable, or unwilling, to help in the troubleshooting process, or could not do something basic like reset their passwords to regain access to their web accounts. Agents don't have direct access via their own applications like a user has on their web based account management tools. |

I created the account a few days ago and currently waiting for the number transfer. Then I suddenly noticed the change of the eMail address. I have sent several eMail's to Vonage about this and was not very pleased with their answer/response as they do not tell me what/why/how/etc ..... To answer your question, no I was not on the call with them, when it happened. I received an eMail that it was changed and I immediately changed it back and changed my password as well. Then, I called customer service and requested to speak to their manager and voiced my complain. They created a case. Vonage claims they still investigating.
If it was a Vonage employee that went into my account then I'm even more upset ... hopefully nobody broke into my account.
Thanks for your response. |
