I bought Brekeke's software PBX. Have someone tried it and connected to Vonage? Brekeke's website mentions it can work together with Voip Service Providers. anyway, I can make a connection from PBX to another VSP. |

Vonage provides Voip service yes, but the service is locked to the ATA. The only way to access Vonage service is through your ATA and a normal phone. If you have SoftPhone, you can log into your softphone account using your software PBX if it supports the SIP protocol, but not your main line.
Also check out http://www.asterisk.org -- free linux-based SoftPBX http://www.voip-info.org lots of info, there's a database of VSPs there |

Go to the link provided and download the PDF instructing use with Vonage- It only allows connecting to a Vonage SoftPhone account. Which means you have your normal Vonage account and gadget, which don't connect to the thing except through a FXO port (phone line analog interface), but that document is telling you how to connect the softphone addon, which gives you about 500min/mo for a few bucks extra.
Just keep that in mind, that is for how to connect Vonage softphone, not normal Vonage. |
