setup is cable modem> motorola vt1000v> pc
I dont have a dialtone, i havn't gotten one yet. yes everything is plugged in right, yes the adapter's light is stable, yes I tried 80# (what is this?). I don't have dsl or a router so I didn't try anything but the basic troubleshooting.
also I've been on hold at the 24 hour customer service for a total of about 2 hours. when I emailed them, they wanted to know if everything was plugged in. so, we've all had our laugh... but I find the individual more intelligent than the company (maybe they should hire a couple guys from the forum)
yes the phone is plugged into port 1, yes I tested the line, yes I unplugged and re plugged it in. my internet works fine (here's the proof). the phone is a 2.4 ghz right out of the box (yes it's on tone). Anyone wanna take a shot? |

is this a new order? I haven't heard of anyone getting the motorola box recently. Anyway, on the Linksys RT31P2 there is a screen in the setup that gives the staus of your line(s). Mine looks like this:
Registration Status: 727-xxx-xxxx 1727xxxxxxx Online
does the moto have a screen like that? what does it say? |

I am a new Vonage user. Same kind of problem. I have Vonage linksys connected to cable modem and downstream of that my netgear router, both routers seving DHCP and no problems with internet connection. I'm using phone line 1 but NO LIGHT on router panel shows up. Phone works plugged into Verizon jack. Linksys web admin page says for 'phone' :-
"Please contact your service provider for further information"
so that's what I am doing |

I'm having the same problem. I read on another post to have your netgear router on a 192.168.15.200 port and not have it set up as a dhcp server, nor have the internet line plugged in from the linksys phone adapter, but have the phone adapter plugged into your "1" port. However I still did not get a dial tone, even after an hour wait for tech support on my cell phone. now I have to wait another week to get another linksys modem and try that one. Preety soon I will be over the 14 day trial period. |

let's not start rumors here. having "contact you service provider" under the voice tab is what it says for everyone. this is not an issue. there are options Vonage doesn't want the consumer to see/use so they block it on the devices. |

I'm not starting rumors. I would just like to get the problem fixed before they just keep sending me routers to correct the problem and then I end up running out of me 14 day trial period, and then have to pay a cancellation fee, because I have to wait an hour before a tech answers the phone. |

you're also not the one who said "now I just have the issue where selecting the VOICE tab on the router webpage shows 'contact your service provider'"
but apparently I should have just quoted in the first post and avoided this altogether. |
