I've had service since Nov 2006 and my setup has been the same since day 1. The problem started Thursday morning. Wednesday night, my service worked fine. Whether it is an outbound or inbound call, I can hear everybody else but they cannot hear me. I've spent about 3 hours with Vonage tech support to no avail and they've missed 2 scheduled callbacks.I had a 4.4 on testyourvoip.com I've searched for this same problem and only found post from 2 years ago. I scanned the recent posts and did not see anything like this posted. Here is my info: 1. Falling Waters, WV 2. Verizon Online DSL 3.3Meg download/768k upload 4. Westell Versalink 327 5. Type of Vonage adapter used PAP2 6. Setup of Network iPap2->switch->router->Modem 7. I cannot be heard on outbound or inbound calls. 8. Speed test statistics --------------------- Download speed: 2254112 bps Upload speed: 714408 bps Quality of service: 41 % Download test type: socket Upload test type: socket Maximum download pause: 191 ms Average download pause: 5 ms Minimum round trip time to server: 17 ms Average round trip time to server: 18 ms
Voip test statistics -------------------- Jitter: you --> server: 2.2 ms Jitter: server --> you: 8.4 ms Packet loss: you --> server: 0.0 % Packet loss: server --> you: 0.0 % Packet discards: 0.0 % Packets out of order: 0.0 % Number of supported Voip lines: 12 Estimated MOS score: 3.9
I havfe removed the router and switch and hooked the ap2 directly to the modem to no vail. I've rebotted everything about 10 times. No firewall blocks. If anybody can help, I'd appreciate it. |

Interesting problem. Have you checked the phone itself? If so, and if it's all right, it would be very helpful to check the PAP2 out by plugging it into another broadband service. Do you have a cooperative friend with a service different from your own? Is your outgoing completely dead, or do the people at the other end get occasional words? |

I have swapped out the phone but it had no effect. I'll take the PAP2 over to a friends house to see if that works. From what people have told me, outgoing is completely dead, they hear nothing.
Just a short while ago I found a post in another forum from someone with the same problem, and several other people who claimed to have it as well. Apparently, thisothe poster discovered the issue occurs with call to and from the PSTN. If a call is made from VOIPto Voip, the issue does not occur. None of my friends have Voip, so I can't test that out. I will try hooking the PAP to their service. Thanks for the help. |

Interesting. When you talked to customer service, did you try using the Vonage line? They can return your call using either a Voip or a conventional line. Naturally, it's best if you can stay on the phone with them from another phone while they do this. |
