i am having problems with ports being open wih the current setup i have. all prts have been opened properly, however any port checking tests i use conclude that the ports are not open. i believe the Vonage adapter is causing my problem, and am not sure how to resolve my issue. i am specifically having a problem with utorrent and not being able to become connectable. |

I don't know the answer to your specific question, but if you're going to be engaging in heavy-duty internet activities, you'll find that the Vonage router just isn't robust enough to handle the load. Put a good router with QoS in front, put the Vonage adapter behind it for use as just an adapter, and set QoS to assure good service to the Vonage box. |

I don't understand what you mean by get through, but bear in mind that uTorrent's UPnP feature will NOT traverse two NATs on different subnets. So, you need to forward whatever port you're using for uTorrent. Without going into static routing or stuff I don't know if your router supports (and that the Vonage definitely does not). Just go plain old caveman and forward the port you're using (say 50000) to the Netgear WAN IP from the Motorola, and then have the Netgear forward port 50000 to your PC.
Follow the portfoward.com guide step by step (twice) and you'll be fine. |
