Vonage activation- MAC address not found

I just purchased a linksys vonage startup kit from staples and I am trying to go through the online activation at www.vonage.com/vonage I enter the MAC address and it tells me the MAC is not valid. any ideas?>

Hi,
When u call support tell them u want to activate an account with the device that u purchased from store.They sent my friend a new device instead of activating the retail device and we had to go through lot of levels to get his device activated.

I emailed customer support about my lil problem, gave them the MAC and they emailed me back telling me that the MAC was already registered to another account. So I boxed everything back up and returned the kit I had for a new one. WORKS GREAT!!!!!!! Thx for yalls feedback
