Thanks for all the info on the Forum. I'm starting to get a feel for the problems I'm having. When I first installed I put the Vonage router behind by WRT54G wireless. I kept all the PC's on the WRT and put only the phone on the Vonage. I was having very regular occurences where the conversation would drop to one way inbound, then totally disconnect. I swapped the configuraion and put the Vonage as the primary router, and the Wireless behind it, connecting all the PC's to the Vonage. The dropped calls continued, and I notices the "network cable unplugged" notice started appearing. I didn't think much of it beyond "that's odd" till I read the posts here. I swapped the config again, with the Wireless as primary and the Vonage behind it. The "cable unplugged" problem stopped immediately. There was no effect on the conversation disconnects.

So, it seems to me that the problem's got to be in the LinkSys somewhere.

I've got the WRT54GP2 with firmware 1.28.0/2.0.13 voice and my unit reboots 4 or 5 times a day whether I ask it to or not. On or off of calls. I have read the forums and it seems there is no fix? I emailed tech support. I'm new to this company, not technology. Should I expect a reply/fix?

I am having the same problem with random resets and dropped calls. What can be done to fix the problem?

I emailed Vonage Tech support but have not heard back from them. I guess we deal until they get all of the firmware fixed.

I suspect it would be the router. I have the default setup settings. SHould I change anything? I have a Linksys BEFSR11 which I used before I signed up with Vonage and I never had any problems of this nature. My ISP is Comcast I keep seeing the disconnect and reconnnect messages on Windows xp also. How do you upgrade the firmware? The Linksys site has that function greyed out.

It is the router and the firmware would come from Vonage since it's an issue with the Voip firmware. But they have not fixed the issue or released any updated firmware that I know of, so we wait.

I've also had this issue for months with the RT31P2. It is less frequent now, but still annoying.

I too have sent emails to tech support and all I get is the standard answer to reboot my router. This is a serious issue and should be addressed otherwise they will lose me and many others as a customer. They must have gotten a bunch of bad routers and don't want to swap them out. I guess they figure if they ignore the problem it will go away. Vonage is not the only Voip provider and there will be a lot more as time goes on. I have seen this before where a tech firm will grow too fast to provide adequate support. They usually don't survive.

If you leave, whatever you do, stay away from Lingo. They are the worst and the dlink router ****. Line quality is unbearable.
