X-Pro-Vonage-Mac installs on my new MacBook and it works, but it crashes after each call is finished.
The error message gives the option of opening the program again. Sound quality is good during the call. I do not use a headset. I use the mic and speakers on the MacBook.
None of the features works. I cannot store any phone numbers and X-Pro-Vonage-Mac will not log any of the calls I receive or make.
Vonage needs to update the software. |

This particular issue was noted back in 2006. It seems no attention has been paid to this as the newest softphone I just download has the same affect on my Macbook pro.
I'm not really sure why after over a year there isn't a new version available....
If there is, I'd sure appreciate it!
I did notice that it runs under Rosetta (emulated, ie compatibility mode) which means it does not natively support Intel macs.
When will a solution be released? I will be requesting a refund if this software problem is not fixed. |

When I asked about this problem several months ago the company that produces the software that Vonage uses for the Mac said that they would be would be offering an update in January. They also told me I could buy their other product - "eye-beam" - for about $35.00 and that it would work with my Intel Mac without crashing (I did not buy it). I bet the update to the free one never comes out. Conversations with Vonage about the problem have been useless. The software company is:

I downloaded EspressTalk (after reading recommendation from another post on this forum); it's looking for Server (SIP Proxy or Virtual PBX). How do I find that for my phone number?
I'm having same issues as an earlier post-er: 1. quits after call hang up (either party) 2. quits in mid-call 3. Occasionally no sound from X-PRO, though I hear sound just fine for system or other applications. |

What the Heck!? Why can't Vonage update this software? These posting are over a year old and this is a known software bug. The minute I disconnect a call on my Vonage Softphone for my MacBook, it crashes the program. Any idea if there will be a software update, or am I better off canceling my subscription now? |

Vonage Talk does not support Mac.
Bottom line: The lack of proper Mac support from Vonage is inexcusable. |
