Post subject: line goes dead when home phone rings
I am on Windstream 3meg, regualarly hit 2600kbps down and 322kbps up. When I am on a
Vonage
call and my home phone rings, the
Vonage
line goes dead and internet connection on my computer hesitates for several seconds. I know that the lines coming to my home office are twisted together and taped. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

It sounds like you're using the home wiring with your
Vonage
device. Did you disconnect the line inside the network interface box located outside your home? Your questions related to this matter would be better posed in the "Home Wiring" section of this forum?

Post subject: Thanks for the reply
Was not sure where to post. Thanks for the reply, I'll repost in wiring.
I did not disconnect any wires outside. Just plugged my
Vonage
modem into my linksys router which has a regular telco line plugged into my house telephone jack. My understanding is that the DSL runds on the same two wire as my home phone.

The "Hard Wiring" forum will definitely help you more. There's even a sticky at the top of the forum that will also assist you...Be sure to take a look at it.
