Is anyone else experiancing problems sending faxes? In the year or so I've had Vonage, it's been nothing but trouble.
Their support staff seems to not want to respond to support requests regarding this either, as I've submitted several, and they never respond.
By phone they are no help either.
Sounds like a class action suite against Vonage is in order, because they are offering something that doesn't work, a fax line. They know it doesn't work apparantly, yet still offer it.
I'de be interested to know how many people are having trouble, because if we can get a group together, it would be great to get something done about it. |

What sdstuckey reports here: http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic2026.html has been discussed in the past on this forum as actually working..., give it a try.
Good luck, and let us know if it worked for you. |

I had a fax problem initially but customer support solved it quickly with a firmware upgrade on my Motorolla box. I am now running version VT20_01.2.d4 and I not need to put any prefixes on my dialing string or do anything else special. I am running Comcast cable. You should also set your call quality to the highest setting on the Vonage dashboard.
It does work well for me thought. Jim |

faxes are easy fixes, you will need to go through the menu and turn off distictive ring, turn on auto answer and turn off ECM (error correction mode). I think that your problem is that ECM is turned on for you sending out faxes. Once you turn off ECM it should fix it, and the reaosn behind that is because Vonage uses a UDP protocol. I am guessing it will send it completly and fail right at the end of you sending out the fax; and thats because your ECM feature is turned on your fax machine. |

My fax always connected and seemed to shake hands and then drop out with "Line Error". Didn't change setting, baud rates or jump through any hoops at all. I simply added a 2 Wire DSL filter in the old fax line and voila! Now works perfect for me. Maybe for you too. Good luck... |

Looks like this was a system/netowrk issue since a lot of users were affected. Right now, everything else seemed to be fine. |

We had also faced a lot of problem sending emails and fax initially but when we used the Email to fax service Annandale, VA, all the faxes were sent without a single problem. |
