Hello All,
I have had Vonage up and running for about 2 weeks now. I absolutely love it. On Comcast in New Hampshire. The LPN was handed over to Comcast for the Trasfer on Dec. 3rd. Waiting patiently! The only issue I have had is with incoming calls ringing on my new Motorola Cordless phones. I have emailed Customer Support (using an email address provided in another forum) and have had almost INSTANT support response. They have taken immediate action. The one time I called in to support (before purchasing my retail kit) I received a live voice after only 5 minutes of hold time. To this point, customer service and their product have been outstanding. I hope as they add more employees, they will also start working on and adding more features (call blocking, etc). My .02 cents. |

I have been waiting for the transfer from MCI Neighborhood since October 4. I have only used the Vonage phone when my daughter, who uses Vonage, calls me. I noticed choppy conversation this week using both my MCI line and my cell phone. I assume then that it is her system causing the choppy conversation. I do not know her hardware configuration, but wonder how to advise her to process with Vonage CSR.
I am disappointed to have to wait this long, but now am concerned that the choppy conversation will affect my phone as well. I use it to operate my business from home and cannot afford choppy phone conversations.
1. How do I get Vonage to act on the transfer? Is there a way for me to contact MCI CSR to effect the switch?
2. Is there adequate troubleshooting of the choppy service or must I depend on this forum for help?
Thank you for your help. |

I am passing my 90 day mark waiting for my number transfer. I am in Wichita, KS and wanting to port my number from a local cell phone provider, Cricket Communications. Vonage tells the following:
| Quote: |
I am contacting you to inform you of your number transfer.
Unfortunately, our carrier, Telcove, has rejected your transfer request and your telephone number cannot be ported because there is no interconnection agreement updated with your carrier, Cricket Communications.
I will explain the situation as best as I can. We are not a traditional phone company and has partners that we work with to facilitate the number transfers. Our partner in transferring your number is Telcove. At this time we cannot transfer your number to Vonage. Your phone company (Cricket) does not have a service agreement, updated in their system, to port numbers, in place with Telcove.
If you wish to pursue this issue, we suggest you to contact your local provider to have this updated. If they still do not agree to release the number, you may want to file a complaint with the local PUC (Public Utility Commission) and have Cricket get an agreement in place to transfer numbers.

When I call Cricket they tell me it is not their responsibility. When I sent e-mails to the Public Utility Commission for Kansas, they go unanswered. Where do I go next? |
