Jose, I did reconfigure the PPoE settings, but when I click on "Restart" on the router configuration page, I get an error "your network cable is unplugged" (though the computer is not on any network - it's a stand alone PC). After a minute or so, at the bottom of the page it shows as "opening page http://192.168.15.1/cgi-bin/webcm..." but the page never loads.
Steve, I get the internet when the computer is plugged directly into the DSL modem(with the Vonage box removed). I had set up the Vonage originally too (when it was working fine).
I have called the ISP technicians to setup the VT2442. In the meantime, please let me know a couple of things:
1. What could be the cause for Power light not glowing (it keeps on blinking)? 2. Does VT2442 catch moisture (After using it successfully for about 9 months, I had kept it paked for almost a month and now it's winter here)?

Thanks a million for your time... The issue is fixed by the ISP technician. This is what he did (damn! it was so simple that I should've thought about & done it much before...)
He just restored the factory default settings on the Motorola router configuration site and that's all......it's all up and running.

You have a bad VT2442.
I had the same problem with my VT2442.
I just set up new service. My VT2442 did not respond as expected - the power light kept blinking and the phone 1 light never came on. After 4 hrs with tech support, they finally sent me a new modem. With the new modem I was up in 5 minutes. |
