PostPosted: Sun Sep 02, 2007 11:27 pm    Post subject: What is the Vonage Call Asia Plan? Reply with quote Back to top

On the Vonage main page there's a link to get up to 20% off if you pay for one year in advance. If you click on the link there's several options, which are:

$239.99 /year Annual Residential Premium Unlimited Plan

$34.99 /month Residential Premium Unlimited Plan($24.99) with Call Asia Plan($10.00)

$30.99 /month Residential Premium Unlimited Plan($24.99) with Basic World Plan($6.00)

$39.99 /month Residential Premium Unlimited Plan($24.99) with Enhanced World Plan($15.00)

$34.99 /month Residential Premium Unlimited Plan($24.99) with Call Europe Plan($10.00)

$39.99 /month Residential Premium Unlimited Plan($24.99) with Call Mexico and Latin America Plan($15.00)

$24.99 /month Residential Premium Unlimited Plan

I looked through Vonage's Help Desk but there's no place that describes what the "Call Asia Plan" and these other call plans actually mean. Does the "Call Asia Plan" mean I can dial unlimited to any Asian country? That's what it's implying but I just want to make sure. Thanks.

I don't have the answer to your question but I too would be interested to know where we can find the details on these new plans. I am living in Mexico currently and I would be interested to know what the call Mexico and Latin America plan includes. Please do post a link if you find information on the new plans. Thanks

I would also be interested in a 'call Asia' plan. I just posted a poll about interest in calls to Philippine cell numbers either free or a flat rate (I threw out a $25 unlimited fee just off the top of my head). A call Asia plan would suit my needs if the Philippines was included. Vonage would do good for themselves if they advertise in the Philam community via various websites. Also to websites frequented by military members.

Just called the Vonage help line about the call Asia plan. I received great response from the rep that answered. It wasn't quite what i was looking for but answered my question nevertheless. I am looking for the most economical way to contact a cell phone # in the Philippines. Vonage rep said the call Asia plan didn't include Phillipinne cell number but there was another meeting planned shortly to address that question. He said the best way would be for the customer in the Philippines to get a DSL line and a Vonage subscription so I could call Vonage to Vonage from the US to the Philippines.

Vonage just sent out a newsletter explaining the different plans. You can find more information on it at http://www.vonage.com/lp/US/world/

Thanks for the link! What is also nice, they finally included a tool to look up any international number. It will instantly tell you if the number is included in any of the new plans or it will give you the per/minute rate if it is not included. I have been waiting for a tool like this on their website for a long time. It will take all the searching and guess work out of dialing an international number. I think the new plans and tool are a great improvement to Vonage service.

... but what else is new? who is slowing down the acceptance of Voip technology there anyway? PLDT? the government? we have a Vonage line in makati and my wife can call her family anytime she wants and vice versa. but my family isn't from there and my family doesn't have access to DSL so no Vonage for them. still stuck using the "evil" phone cards. i hope they add PI to the Asia plan soon or lower the rates. i get jealous seeing rates for like china at .01/minute. or hong kong at .04/minute. i mean it's right there next to PI Lol
