Here's the deal:

Location: Gwinnett County, Georgia (NE Atlanta)
ISP: Charter Communications, Cable
Speed: 3 MBPS up / 512 down
Modem: Linksys Wireless G Cable Gateway
Vonage Adapter: Uniden UIP 1869V
Setup: Linksys -> Vonage
Issue: With the Vonage phone plugged in, the internet (regardless of if the phone is in use or not) drops every 15 minutes to hour for a period of about 1 to 5 minutes.

Are you using a wireless only internet connection? If so, try a wired connnection and see if you have the same problem. Are you using a 2.4 GHz cordless telephone? You can't use 2.4 Ghz wireless internet (802.11g) and a 2.4 GHz phone at the same time. They will interfere with each other.

Prior to installing your Vonage device, had you ever noticed your internet connection dropping? If your internet connection is not consistent, you will continue to experience these type of drops which is of no fault of Vonage or the Vonage adapter...Your Vonage experience is highly dependant upon your internet connection being constant.

Remove the Vonage adapter temporarily and observe your cable modems internet connection for any drops. You might also want to take a closer look at the modem itself. I was reading some reviews on the Linksys Wireless-G Cable Gateway WCG200 (is this the model you have) and some of the reviewers were experiencing the modem dropping the connection. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-reviews/B0000TW3RE/ref=cm_cr_dp_all_helpful/105-3024851-9356467?ie=UTF8&n=172282#customerReviews

Not necessarily...I successfully used a 2.4 GHz phone with a 2.4 GHz router with no issues whatsoever. As long as the base unit of the 2.4 GHz phone and the 2.4GHz router are NOT on top of each other, you should be OK. I do agree with you that it would be preferable to use a different frequency if at all possible...preferably a 5.8 or 6.0 GHz phone would suffice.
