Seems to work better. Still can't call non-Vonage numbers. Can't save contacts. |

what operating system are you using? What error to you get if you try to call a non vonage number?
I can't call an international number, only North American ones, but still haven't heard the official word from Vonage on this. |

XP-Pro on a Lenovo T-43. The error I get is a voice message saying I can only call Vonage phones, other Vonage Talk users and Toll Free numbers. |

I'm done with this thing for a while. I can't for the life of me get it past my firewall. I use Comodo and the way that this application multi casts and changes IP's as soon as I create a network rule for it something changes and it is offline again. Twice it died while still well within the port range I had setup.
I am not in love with the idea of having to go any port, any source IP to and destination IP because that kind of defeats the purpose of a firewall. I wanted to limit the rule by only allowing my router IP as that was all it wanted any way but it continues to die. If I shut down Comodo it works like a champ.
I would like to use, but my softphone just works and works. I'll come back around to it in a few versions and see what happens. |

Adding contacts are now being saved with this new release after signing out and signing back-in.
The option to place a call on hold still does not appear to be working correctly for me. After placing the call on hold and returning to the call, theres dead air and you have to disconnect the call...anyone else experiencing this? Is anyone able to receive incoming calls with Vonage Talk?
Something else I've noticed...If you login to your web account, you will notice that your "username" has been added to SimulRing. This would lead one to believe that if you're signed in to Vonage Talk, your Vonage Talk application and your Vonage phone should ring simultaneously. I haven't found this to be the case as of yet but hopefully with the continued updates and releases, this feature will work in the future. |

I checked and I noticed a number 011and my username is in the call forward and also simuring. I will try this out later on and see if you can actually receive a phone call with this, if you can then it defeats the purpose of a soft phone.
edit version: I went into the account and tried to save it so that my username was there and it said invalid phone number. Even though your user name is shown, have you tried to enable it and save it? |

I think that this is aimed right at their softphone application. I see them offering a softphone still using this as their software for those (like me) that still need and want a second number. When this thing is done in my opinion it will be their softphone. |

The "011" and my username is also listed in the Call Forwarding. I assumed it was already enabled when I saw my username listed under SimulRing and Call Forwarding. More than likely, the feature has not been fully implemented. |

Sadly, the new version's installer has a fatal bug.
After uninstalling the previous version of VonageTalk (which worked by the way) and a reboot for good measure, my attempts to execute the newly downloaded VonageTalk.exe installer file result in . . . well, NOTHING!
I downloaded this file from:
http://alpha.vonage.com/
A 14.1 Mb file that does absolutely nothing. Hopefully Vonage will update this installer soon.
I wish I hadn't gone for this upgrade. |
