just a note about being able to receive calls on
Vonage
Talk, do not do anything with the SimulRing page, do not add or delete a number or your user name from that page, if you do you will lose the ability to receive calls on
vonage
Talk. This is an ongoing problem that
Vonage
hopes to correct soon.

Post subject: Vonage Talk wont' let me log in!
So I'm trying to give
Vonage
Talk a try for the first time, just downloaded the latest version. I try to log in using my
Vonage
username and password, and it tells my that it is incorrect.
Is this the same username and password that you use to log into your
Vonage
web account, or do I need to apply for a new one? I have no problems logging into my web account at all.

It is the same username and password you use to log-in to your
Vonage
web account. The username and password is case-sensitive when signing in to
Vonage
Talk, so be sure to type it in exactly the way you do to log-in to your web account.

Yep, I'm typing it in exactly. Now for some reason it logs me in, it brings up the welcome screen, my IM status says that I'm online ... and then the log-in screen pops back up telling me that I'm using an incorrect username or password. If I try to type it in again, the program crashes on me.

I think your username has to be all in lower case and your password is case sensitive.

Post subject: Now can receive calls on Vonage Talk
I was having issues with
Vonage
Talk and receiving phone calls on it.
Vonage
has fixed the issue for me and others. If you still can't receive phone calls on
Vonage
talk, sign out of
Vonage
Talk and then sign back in. Check your
Vonage
account under SimulRing and see if 011username is listed, if it is then you can now receive calls using
Vonage
Talk.
There was an issue before if you added or deleted a number from this then
vonage
talk wouldn't be able to receive calls. I am not going to change anything on the page.

Which doesn't help me, because both username and password are all lower-case. Now I get the additional annoying habit of
Vonage
Talk setting itself to load at start-up, and then crashing before I can get to the preferences to change it!
This is REALLY not
Vonage
's best effort here.

On the Taskbar Click "Start" > "Run" then in the "Run" box, type "msconfig" then click the startup tab, then un-click
vonage
talk, then click "Apply", "OK" and restart.
Vonage
talk will not load on startup. If you don't want it loading, start up
Vonage
Talk, click "Tools" > "Preferences" > and un-click the load
Vonage
Talk at startup option and then click "Save"

Again, the problem is that
Vonage
crashes before I can go into the settings and change it to stop auto loading. And I loathe having to use msconfig to manage programs that should just know better.
I made the decision to just uninstall
Vonage
Talk instead. I'll check it out when it is a more stable product. If I'm still a
Vonage
customer by then

Too bad, as I think this
Vonage
feature/product is a big plus for being a
vonage
customer.
I am sitting on my boat where I do a lot of my work from, just talked to my son on his comcast
voip
in California, my bluetooth hands free . . .worked like a charm.
