On the earlier version I only heard the phone ring on my usb phone but now I hear the ringing on my laptop speaker and usb phone.
But do you hear two different rings with one being louder than the other?

Sadly, the new version's installer has a fatal bug.
After uninstalling the previous version of
Vonage
Talk (which worked by the way) and a reboot for good measure, my attempts to execute the newly downloaded
Vonage
Talk.exe installer file result in . . . well, NOTHING!
I downloaded this file from:
http://alpha.
vonage
.com/
A 14.1 Mb file that does absolutely nothing. Hopefully
Vonage
will update this installer soon.
I wish I hadn't gone for this upgrade.
Same problem. Trying to run this on Vista. Does someone have a link to an older version I can try out?

Post subject: Able to use on e-series SIP?
Out of curiosity, with
Vonage
talk are we able to just take some SIP settings and enter them onto a
Voip
enabled phone. (Like a Nokia e-series?) I would love to be able to do this without getting a softphone account. Any way to do it with
Vonage
talk?
Thanks!

Vonage
Talk 0.9.1 is available for download
I'm done with this thing for a while. I can't for the life of me get it past my firewall. I use Comodo ...
I finally managed to get this thing past my firewall but what a PIA. Neither the
Vonage
softphone, Xlite, or any IM that I use needs the kind of access that this program wants, but I think I have reached a happy middle ground by limiting port access to a strict group of IP's.
I hope that they can tone this port usage down for a final release. The way it broadcasts over 10 or 15 ports at once is a concern for me long term in keeping the firewall open to it.

Thanks!
This is the BIG question. When the first version of
Vonage
Talk appeared, the one that anyone can get and use for free, even without a
Vonage
account, I tried to make these "guest" credentials work from another client, and failed. My assumption was that the
Vonage
Talk registry was looking at something in addition to the credentials, like the "User-Agent:" header, or that the "CallIDs" are generated according to some "special" algorithm. But I might have done something else wrong. Since I don't have a Windoze system, I didn't actually have
Vonage
Talk itself working with those guest credentials.
What are people using as the credentials? Is it your
Vonage
Web username and web password? And if so, and you have more than one number, how do you associate it with one of your numbers in particular, so that the calls "get the same rates" as that particular number? (And btw, could this be the "secret" to call outside of
Vonage
, i.e. are the people who are not able to call outside maybe using the wrong credentials?)
Apparently the way to get incoming calls to go to
Vonage
Talk involves using SimulRing (or other forwarding) and using 011+username.
Since
Vonage
Talk is supposedly OpenSource, and there is a SourceForge project that's supposed to have the source, but didn't the last time I looked, we oughta be able to see what sort of non-standard thing is going on, if anything.

Just downloaded
vonage
talk and found it works great.
I can call my wired
vonage
line at home
I can receive calls (simultaneous ring on laptop and wired
vonage
phone)
Can make a call on my wired
vonage
line at home while connected to a call via my laptop.
