After uninstalling the previous version of VonageTalk (which worked by the way) and a reboot for good measure, my attempts to execute the newly downloaded VonageTalk.exe installer file result in . . . well, NOTHING!
I downloaded this file from: http://alpha.vonage.com/
A 14.1 Mb file that does absolutely nothing. Hopefully Vonage will update this installer soon.
I wish I hadn't gone for this upgrade. |
I experienced the same issue with the installer not executing if you downloaded the file and saved it to your computer. I was able to install the new build by "running" the file from its current location instead of saving it.
If you still have the file downloaded and saved to your computer, restart your computer into "Safe Mode" and then try double-clicking on the saved file to start the install process. |

Thanks, that did the trick.
This particular package will only install if it is run from its location.
Safe Mode doesn't work either.
The main bug fix, is that annoying error message that it couldn't connect to the network (even though it did) is gone.
Thanks once again. |

Download again. I had the exact same problem but you will get it if you keep trying. |

YEP, it worked when I installed it from the "RUN" dialog in IE.
Saving it and trying to run it after it is saved doesn't seem to work.
All installed well and lots of bugs got fixed in this version. |

I am missing something: I don't understand why someone who has a softphone would want to bother with downloading Vonage Talk; I am sure I am missing some point....enlighten me |

Because I want to.
Two different phone numbers. Two different people using software without buying a second softphone line. How about both lines running at once on the same computer if need be. I am not the only user of my account and the softphone allows one user at a time for incoming calls. Not always convenient when three people are away from home.
Or, just because I want to. |

just because i want to is good enough for me; I thought there was something I was missing, not a big softphone user here and wondered if there was an advantage I was not considering; being the only user on my SF I guess I was right and it isn't for me but apparently is useful for others, thanks |

When making an outbound call with Vonage Talk, does anyone notice what sounds like a double ring? It's like one ring is louder than the other and they will overlap one another...this was not present in the previous version. |

Initially, I download the new version and it did not load. Then I tried again, and it installed the newer version. Try again.......
On Saturday, I am going to play around with the new version to see what changes there are |
