I am still waiting for my phone number transfer. It has been over 2 weeks. No one can get in touch with me. My number is totally disconnected. I have spent DAYS trying to get this solved. I am transferred over and over again and told something different every time. Customer service people will not give me their names or any kind of confirmation number. My emails are only answered with an automated response. I am afraid to change to someone else right now because I want my old number which is on all of my business cards and has been my number for years.

I have the same issue (actually multiple issues).

First they started the port from Sunrocket/Teleblend and disconnected my service. However, port is not going through (now 2 days after the disconnection).

I got an email saying LNP transfer is completed - this I think was triggered by the fact that now Vonage customers can call me on the ported number, but no one else can. I think this is some screwup on Vonage's part - but I can't talk to anyone who knows anything. They say that the issue is with a Level 3 Technical Rep and that is all.

Meanwhile, I have no incoming calls - worse - they get the number is no longer in service message !!

Tried calling Paetec comm who is the CLEC with my number and they hung up on me.

Meanwhile, tech support calls to Vonage have ended up transferring me to a Vacuum cleaner company who said that they have had other Vonage customers reaching them as well. When I told the Vonage rep, he said I find it difficult to believe!!! Man its less than a week since I signed up and I am disgusted beyond belief.

I spent one day on the phone from 9 AM to 3 PM... everyone had to hear my address and email address and listen to my story from the beginning. No one gave me their name. Everyone transferred me to someone else. I was told different stories from everyone.

This morning the person said that the Vonage system was down and that she had to transfer me to a customer support person... She was customer support!

Lies, lies, lies

I can't get out of this phone deal fast enough!

So,

Yesterday, I was assured that the transfer would be completed today between 1PM and 3PM...

Any bets as to the outcome?

Well,

Of course, my number didn't transfer as promised... AGAIN!!!

This is what you hear if you dial my number: "We're sorry, your call cannot be completed as dialed, or the number has been disconnected. Please check the number and dial again"

I have been through he!! trying to deal with Vonage in regards to my phone number transfer. With all other companies, whenever I changed my service, the phone number transfer was automatic. NOT with Vonage! I signed up on August 13. It is now August 31. I have been lied to and given false promises by customer support over and over and over again!

When someone calls me they hear "We're sorry, your call cannot be completed as dialed, or the number has been disconnected. Please check the number and dial again"!!!!!!!

I am a freelancer and this number is on my business cards and resumes and with all my clients.

I am so upset, I cannot even express!!!!

Every time I talk to customer service, I am told another made up story and transferred to a different customer service person. Each time I am transferred, I am asked my information all over again.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR Vonage. YOU WILL BE SORRY YOU DID!!!!!!!!!

There must be a problem with your phone number. I had my phone number ported a couple of months ago. It took a whole 3 days from when I signed the porting agreement.
If your account has funds due, there is a work order on your account, or a number of other things that will not allow a number to be ported. It is not always Vonage's fault sometimes it is your fault or the fault of the company the number is being ported from.

Just because YOUR number ported over fine doesn't mean that MY number had PROBLEMS!!!

My number had no problems!!!!! I have had it for years! I was just trying to go from a hard line to a Voip and I am sorry I did!!!

This is NOT MY FAULT!!!!!!!!!!

PostPosted: Wed Dec 26, 2007 7:18 pm    Post subject: Keeping ATT Elite Internet Package with a dry loop Reply with quote Back to top

My complaint is as follows:

Dec. 13 I had a long conversation with someone in sales at Vonage. Included in the conversation was the fact that I have the ATT Elite High Speed Internet package. "No problem, works GREAT with Vonage." Made the decision to transfer both phone numbers to Vonage. Dec. 17 ATT disconnected my line, but eliminated my primary service completely since my Vonage Device Motorola VT 2142 didn't arrive until Dec. 24.

My fax line was to be transferred but now is being held hostage by ATT since that secondary line is linked to my high speed internet. Without it, I am not eligible for the Elite package since it is not compatible (or so they say) with a free-standing, naked, or dry loop internet connection. GREAT.... Bad information from everyone. Not until last week did I even find out that "There is a feature on you account preventing your transfer."

In trying to reduce my bills, I will either have to go to a lower 4X slower ATT DSL program or pay for an additional ATT line to support my current Elite program. This is not only going to the FCC but also on complaints.com. What a scam! CarolWesterman@aol.com
