can i connect my portable credit card swiper to my Vonage device?my phone and internet is working fine.everything is good |

If you have the bandwidth setting set to high bandwidth (g.711 CODEC) it should work - which does not mean that it will work, just that it should. I expect that there are combinations of swiper and terminal adapter that will work and some others that won't. My guess, however, is that most would be OK. |

I don't see why not as long as you have it programmed to dial 1 and area code. It's probably similar to people using a dial up fax/modem on their computer. I have had to lower the baud rate to 9600 and it works fine. So I think if you have that kind of customization available for your credit card swiper, it theoretically should work without issue. Again, I haven't seen this kind of question before so only actual implementation will tell you. It's a phone call to Vonage whether it's automated or a live voice.

Just a caveat -- this might constitute business use of the line. If you have a residential line you may not want to do it often. |
