I had submitted my Vonage Best Buy $100 gift card rebate last year (2006) and I still haven't received it.
My rebate has 8 weeks of validation period. It was huge struggle in convincing the rep that my rebate had stayed in "Required Validation Period" for 5 months and finally they changed the status to "Premium Approved".
In April of 2007, I was told that my check would arrive in 10 business days. I have been hearing the same words again and again from the rep for the last 5 months.
1. "We have ESCALATED your case and you will get the check in 5-10 days."
2. "Sorry, the rebate was not ESCALATED before, I have ESCALATED it now and you will get the check in 5-10 days."
3. "So far your rebate has been ESCALATED but not RUSHED. We have RUSHED your case and you will get the check in 5-10 days."
4. "Due to a computer problem your case in not going through "Check Mailed" stage and dropping back to "Premium Approved".
I have been hearing the same words again and again every 10 days over the last 5 months.
The Supervisors are rejecting any manual processing saying ESCALATION and RUSHING is all they can do. Nothing more.
When requested if there is someone or someway this glitch can be addressed, I am told "All supervisors can only do what we have been doing and there is no phone number or person above us whom you can talk with."
They openly say, you can write to us, and we can only do the same and cannot do any additional manual processing.
Hope you guys are aware and in future avoid any kind of rebates from Vonage. Even if you have all the documents INTACT and ON-TIME and completed VALIDATION PERIOD and PREMIUM APPROVED, the check will still not be mailed and the sad part is Rebate Center cannot do anything.

Rebates are all scams, the company hopes that people don't send in their rebates to get the money and when you do send them in you have to wait 6 months to get the money. |

Been waiting over 8 weeks now for WRPT54G Best Buy $30 Rebate. Just got off phone with Vonage who says they can't find my info and to wait another two weeks to ensure its in their system.
Obviously this is a scam, as mentioned above, hoping people won't follow-up and if they do, hoping they will eventually give up.
This isn't the first time Vonage has screwed me, and I hate wasting my time for $30, but the rebate is the reason I purchased the router in the first place.
Its too bad these companies can't back up their offers. I can guarantee Vonage is going to lose a lot more that just $30 due to the number of people who will be dissuaded from ever signing up for the service after hearing of all the issues I've had with them. |
