I have three Vonage lines. That means I have two linksys routers (on top of the DSL modem with built in router and my VPN router) which make my network config a mess.

I found this product. http://www.signalsys.com/sp400.html
Anyone else use it? (Search came up empty, so I'm guessing no)

They claim it works with Vonage, but they say I will need the password for each of my lines in order to set it up. I'm not that familiar with exactly how Voip is configured, but I'm going to guess that these passwords aren't something Vonage gives out(?)

Can anyone spread some light on the subject?

I don't believe it will actually work with Vonage, and I don't see anything on their SITE that suggests it will. If a salesman is telling you it will, I would demand VERY SPECIFIC explanation of why / how it works with Vonage and a good, written money back offer if you got it and find that it doesn't work.

The first warning to me (other than knowing that Vonage generally does not work with 3rd party hardware) is the "password for each of my lines" part. Your Vonage "lines" don't have passwords, only your Vonage "account", and I am assuming all 3 of your lines are under one account . . . hence, one password covers all 3 lines. Doesn't seem to add up with what someone there is telling you.

Be very skeptical!

This is what he said when asked if it works with Vonage:

Vonage does not give out SIP registration usernames and passwords, they customize their firmware so your Vonage-enabled device sends then encrypted. You cannot use anything but Vonage-supplied/Vonage-supported equipment.

The only exception to this is the Vonage Softphone account, which is an ADDITIONAL phone line you can buy if you already have a regular Vonage account. With those, as I understand it, you get a standard SIP username and password and you can use any device you want. But you ALSO have to have a regular Vonage account that will only run on the Vonage-supplied adapter.

the password he is talking about is the SIP registrations.vonage do not give them out.for a device to work with vonage.it should be registered to your acct, and only Vonage devices are the ones you can register to your acct.

Thanks everyone. I will stay away from this unit then....and maybe teach the salesman a thing or three.

I assume since no one mentioned it, that Vonage doesn't support any phone adapters with more than 2 ports...
