Name display in Ontario

Well.. i finally have quasi good news on my caller-id w/ name issue. I too live in 905 and suffered for 6 months w/o caller-id w/ name. It drove me so batty (and the wife) that I talked to a team lead about the issue and what reasonably could I expect it fixed. When I determined that a fix wasn't looking to be in the short term, I started asking about **** it doesn't work, and what is the scope of the issue. He was very frank with me, that he has seen issues with some of the 905 numbers, and it was due to the carrier that was being used in that area. I asked if I changed my number to a 416 number, might I get caller-id name. He believed this would work as others with 416 do work, but finding a 416 available would be difficult. I figured for the people that call me, the 416 is just as good long-distance wise, my only pain would be updating the 12901590 people that our number has changed. Two weeks later, I got an email that a 416 had been secured and now we were negotiating Vonage picking up the tab for the virtual line. Well, I'm slightly annoyed, but content nonetheless. I have a working caller-id with name. I now have a 416 number instead of a 905. And Vonage is paying for my 905 to become a virtual number for 6 months so I can update people in time. It was originally setup as 905 primary and 416 as virtual, but I asked them to reverse it so that people would start getting used to my new number. Works great however.. yay!

My only complaint is the fact that I have no Caller Name display when I receive a call...only the number is displayed. Same goes when I view the call history on my account. Since I like to screen calls, this is a pain.

Has this begun working for the 905's on here? I have a 416 number but my 905 number appears to have started working as well.. can anyone confirm?

Well, amazingly I have received some name displays. Not a lot, but since I have not received a single one in a year, anything is an improvement. I have received 6 since the beginning of the year.

Unfortunately, only the names for numbers that I know well anyway.
