I am highly frustrated at this point... maybe someone can shed some light. When making calls, the receivers caller id may or may not show my number. Sometimes it says I'm blocking (which I'm not), sometimes it shows unknown name/unknown number, sometimes it shows unknown name/000-000-0000 and finally at times it shows random numbers - one was from California, another time New York.
I've been 'working' with them for two weeks on this problem and I only have a little over a week to decide if I am going to dump them and just go with my cable provider's service.
I really like Vonage, that's why I came back after 2 years with Packet8, but this problem is unacceptable.
BTW hardware VT 2542.
Any suggestions on how to deal with tech support. Shoot they have opened tickets and closed them without me knowing and it is amazing they get anything done.
Has anyone else had this problem... I can't seem to find anyone that has.

I've had the same problem recently. It does one of the following:
1. Doesn't show up at all, unknown number
2. Shows up as something crazy like 39000000000000000 or 8523242347234
3. Works as expected
I don't believe this is a problem with your adapter, or my adapter. Rather this is going to be a problem with Vonage's network. Your little adapter is going to send the same information each time you call (or it should). A packet capture on it would confirm this. I haven't bothered myself.
Keep calling them is your own hope I suppose. It isn't critical for me so I haven't bothered. I also don't have any desire to sit on the phone with them while we do worthless things like rebooting my adapter and playing with my network. |
