Okay, I would have typed a single problem in the title field, but there seems to be so many that posting only one would have been misleading. Anyway, on to your voluntary tech support!

I have the VT2442, and I can't call Vonage's number because... Well, I'm installing the phone. And I have no phone line. So a phone number really doesn't do me much good.

My phone itself is a 2.4ghz Panasonic, but I don't know the model.
VT2442 Motorola
3mbps wireless connection
Linksys 5 port network hub
My modem is also a Motorola, but it's on my roof. They call it "radio internet." It works really good, though, so I enjoy it. Kinda like a "dish."

Alright, so here's the problem! What I originally planned was to get rid of the hub, so I hooked everything up without it. No internet connection was coming through the router. I checked to make sure my connection was okay, and it was functioning perfectly. All the lights were on as they should be, mostly. The LAN lights were blinking rapidly, which is good. The phone light came on when I turned my cordless phone on. I figured that wouldn't be a problem, but if it is, let me know. BUT! The power light. It blinks. One long blink, one short blink, and it's blinking green.

In the VT2442's settings, there's a small field that says "Voice status: Provisioning failed."

Please help! If you need more information, I'll be checking this topic constantly. Thanks for reading!

It's strange that the phone light came up without having a solid power light. That the power light blinks twice means that it's not getting an IP Address. Do you have a static IP with your dish connection? If so you need to set it up on the WAN portion of your router.

I tried that, but the light continues to blink green the same way it was.

The light blinked red for about a minute after I put the static IP in the WAN>Static menu. The connection on this computer is also telling me there's an IP conflict with another system on my network. I'm assuming because this computer and the VT2442 have the same IP?

Also, I just noticed, when I turn the phone on, the light blinks constantly.

No one can help me?

Frankly, this is... I don't even know. I like the idea of Vonage, but if I'm going to spend my entire free month getting it to work, I don't really see the point.

I'd appreciate any help, really, but I'm QUITE frustrated by this thing. I can't find anything in the help section of the website. Does anyone know if there's an online chat with any of Vonage's tech people?

Alright! I had it working, but had no internet connection. What I did was plug the internet directly into the VT2442 and the phone worked, but the computers weren't getting internet service. The power light was on steady and everything, but no internet.

I mostly started doing things by instinct in the Static menu, and it changed my PC's ip address to a variation of the VT2442's ip. I might go back into it and experiment more. Advice is helpful.

Ok, sounds like you did have a static IP. Now set your PCs to obtain an IP dynamically from the router and that's it.

Okay, it kept turning my internet off. In the status screen of my connection, it said "IP assigned by DHCP," or something to that effect. But it kept turning my internet off after fifteen or twenty seconds. I could "repair" the connection, and it'd work again for another fifteen or twenty seconds and turn off again.

I am betting that your ISP is too slow. Apparently your "rooftop" system is a slow wifi connection and too slow for Vonage. Any idea what the speed of your connection is?

My connection is 3mb up/down. It's radio internet from my utilities board. The antennae modem was made by Motorola and it was installed almost a year ago. It's considered, by the utilities board, as a wireless internet connection. I've read in other places around the Vonage stuff that wireless and dish connections aren't very optimal for Vonage. Is this true? Should I go ahead and call for a refund? I can't pay for something I can't use.
