Softphone works great but can't record incoming voice

I am using Vonage SoftPhone on a Windows XP system. I use a Plantronics headset with USB connector. Incoming and outgoing voice quality is terrific. I need to use this setup to record interviews with Super MP3 Recorder Professional and that's where the trouble starts. MY voice records beautifully but incoming voice does not record, just blank spots when the other person is talking.

I have tried innumerable ways to configure Sounds and Audio on the Control Panel, and settings in SoftPhone, and Mixer settings in Super MP3 Recorder. With all those variables of course there are a multitude of different combinations and I simply can't find out what it is I need to do to get incoming voice to record.

Anybody here successfully recording conversations on SoftPhone? Please tell me how you have things set up.

You can use Counterpath's X-Lite all the time with Vonage, record calls, and can even play audio files on my notebook speakers to play back recorded calls previously made.

Thanks for your suggestion. Turns out that altho I said I had tried every possible setup, I hadn't. Don't remember now what I was doing wrong but at any rate, I can now record incoming voice as well as outgoing, fine quality.

While struggling with this I did try X-Lite but couldn't make it work. Kept getting a message I can't remember exactly but it had to do with Vonage accepting the connection. If anyone has had this problem and has a solution, would like to hear it. I do like the fact that X-Lite has its own built-in recorder.
