Post subject: D-Link Wirless Router and Vonage
Im new to broadband and wirless. I just had wirless internet installed. The signal comes from the antenna through Cat 5 cable to my D-Link wirless router. I connect the router to my computer with another cat cable. Can I use
Vonage
with this setup or do I need something else?
Thank you

Post subject: Yes.
I have my system set up with the
Vonage
device plugged into my wireless router (instead of the router being plugged into the
Vonage
device).

I have a D-Link DI-624 and I couldn't get the adapter to see the phone line until I put the adapter between the router and the cable modem. Did you notice a difference in call quality based on adpater placement?

I also have a dlink 624. This is my setup....
cable modem --> linksys --> desktop plugged into link 1 on linksys --> dlink into link2 on linksys
dlink has dhcp = OFF mac filter and wep = ON
linksys assigns dlink IP
This setup seems to work the best for
Vonage
quality!
Good luck

I have a DI-614+ and Linksys Broadband router with 2 phone ports (RT31P2) from
Vonage
. Here is my setup.
cable modem->DI-614+->WAN port of RT31P2->my telepone
|
|__>hub____>ethernet port 1 of RT31P2
I disabled RT31P2 DHCP and set a static IP address that matches my network's, i.e. having the same network portion of the network. Essentially makes the RT31P2 act like a hub.
I need to connect the ethernet port of RT31P2 back to a hub so that I can go to its administrator page from my PC which is also connected to the hub.
Hint. To configure RT31P2's DHCP and IP address, I first conenct it to my laptop which is not in my network and change the settings before hooking it up as above.
Hope this help.

Sometimes some babying of the device needs to be done by tech support to get the device 2 hit our config server, but any of the above connections will work.
