Post subject: Told my 800# cannot be tranfered to this company. Why not?

Continually told by this comany's customer service that they do offer 800 #'s; in the next breath I am told I cannot transfer my 800 # of 25 years utilizing the goverments ffc form known as res4. This is applicable to both land lines and
Voip
service. The reason given is a no-thing or nothing. Simply, "we cannot do that." Any knowlegeable informed answer would be greatly appreciated.
In addition, my dsl service is through a telephone line. Does this mean I would need another land line?
I thank any and all who have the desire, knowledge and patience to be of help.
My kindest regards
nicegurl

cant get toll free numbers from another provider. with regards to your dsl...most dsl providers right now are able to provide you dry loop or naked dsl, that would mean internet only without a line. you could ask them to provide you with that or if they cannot its best to switch to a cable internet or to get the most basic line from them just for your dsl

The form you need is a resporg form (it stands for "responsible organization"). If you have a TFN with an existing carrier and the carrier you are moving to offers toll-free service, they absolutely can move it. If you do a Google search on "resporg form" you'll find a bunch of links with decent information.
