I called today to ask this question and they said that if I get the adapter from them that they will replace it if there are problems. If you get it from Circuit or Best Buy, you would be out of luck.
He said that they had a rather large batch and they have new better ones. Please post when you try your new one as I am curious of the truth to his info |

Ok, I went back to Circuit City to get a 2nd Linksys WRT54GP2 router, right off I notice I had firmware 1.20 on it. I had some stuff to do so I left to play with it later. When I got home I had firmware 1.25. So at least the update function works. So I called Vonage to change my MAC with the new one. The first person could barely speak English. After I told her what I did and what I needed her to do she transferred me. I was on hold already for 10 min and the 2nd time for 10 more min. Err!! After that I was told to power down for 10 min. While on the phone I asked is this a hardware or software problem. Vonage said it was a hardware issue and if this doesn’t work get the Motorola VT1000. There have been no complaints with that router, but that router doesn’t have wireless like the Linksys WRT54GP2. I don’t need wireless right now, but one day I will. I would rather have a clean signal and I will just update to the next router down the road if I had too. So back to my story, I connected my 2nd Linksys WRT54GP2 router, had Vonage add my MAC turned the router and the modem off for 10 min and stated all back up. Picked up the phone and called my wife on her cell phone for a test run and would you believe all is clear and working fine. Perfect clear clean signal, I never saw that coming. I thought for sure I would have to get the Motorola VT1000, but nope. So this is where I leave you, those of you who still have to find there way through the background whoosh. |
