PostPosted: Sun Jul 22, 2007 5:07 pm    Post subject: Cant get connected customer service billing for non-use Reply with quote Back to top

I connected June 19th, today is july 22 person taking order didnt take all of my address so my old phone co. refused to switch old number. fine informed them of that info. that was july 11, today i got bill for $30.98. theyve given me a temporary number which i cant connect to as im still getting calls on my regular number which hasent been switched yet. but they claim they dont give refunds as im "recieving service" I say any service im not able to use is not service i owe any mioney for(im not giving any temp # out to 100+ places). I feel im still owed the free month which ive been unable to use. customer service says they dont give any refunds and refuses to coinnect me with a supervisor. so im going to disconnect come monday as theyre unable to provide me with what i ordered. refused to make it right. seems like a scam from my point of view.

To transfer your number, there is a form that needs to be filled out. Without that form, they cannot transfer the number.

Number transfer basics

http://www.vonage.com/help.php?keyword=NumberforLife&refer_id=OLNTX070401003W1&promo_id=USVONRPFMF

I did mine by the requirements and it was switched in 5 days.

they took my info over the phone never asked me to fill out a form. i believe i followed their requirements exactly as they asked me to do. also they had a second chance to request a form when they sent me an email stating they had taken my address down wrong. they did no such thing. im assuming theiy do some without the form as theyve never requested one...

I'm not an apologist for Vonage when it comes to some of their practices, but number transfers are one of the real problems. In this case it sounds as if they screwed up, but transfers often take a very long time due to things beyond Vonage's control.

Once you sign up, they are providing service. You can use the Vonage line for outgoing calls, incoming via the virtual number, free long distance, and so forth. By all means dump them if you find this issue intolerable, but you may save money in the longer term by sticking around. You might also want to try once more to get to a supervisor. Have you tried the 888 250 1799 number? How about 888 280 5440?

If you want the porting done in a timely manner, follow these guidelines

http://www.vonage.com/help.php?keyword=TransferNumber&promo_id=USVONRPFMF&refer_id=OLNTX070401003W1

http://www.vonage.com/help.php?keyword=NumberTransferStatusBasics&promo_id=USVONRPFMF&refer_id=OLNTX070401003W1

There are certain steps that need to be taken. If you haven't filled out the number porting form yet, DO IT. They have to have the form to port the number. It is extremely difficult to do over the phone. That form serves as an order that can be processed. A phone call doesn't.

the 27th i spoke to a technician he said they would get it done in 24hrs. they didnt want the form filled out. today the 30th i checked, my phone it is still on. i then called my reg phone co. they have no info since the original mess up on the 29th of june. so Vonage has done nothing except tell me a story since they screwed up my transfer. oh sorry i forgot charge me for service i didnt receive (yes someone being able to call me on my original number is something im entitled to under federal law) . theyve already refused to refund my money so ill try chargeback thru visa and maybe better business bureau. i hope the rest of you have better luck than i did! ill be applying at a different Voip provider.

Don't waste your time with the BBB. File a complaint with the office of the Atty General of your state.
