HI guys, I am a new Vonage (3 -4 months) and love the product.
However, I'm having some problems with choppy calls when connected to my wireless router. I know a little about this kind of stuff but can't find a way to resolve this issue. See details below.

DSL modem - Paradyne (Zhone)
Vonage - Motorola VT2142
Wireless Router - USR5461
Internet Speed: 1.5kbps

I have done all the basics, ensure that my wireless equipment is about 4 or more feet away from each other. Connect Vonage directly to my DSL modem. Adjusted my call quality level via the Vonage web interface.

My last resort was to do a port forward. I tried port 5061, 10000 -20000UDP but since my box was provisioned after 2005, I used only 10000 - 20000UDP. Neither worked except for a few minutes.

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue, please keep in mind that the problem only occurs when connected to my wireless router which is basically brand new and works fine other wise.

My internet speed is just below 1.5MB, it's about 1300+ kbps.

My setup is cable modem->wireless router->vonage device and my wired computer is hooked up to the wireless router. The only thing hooked to the Vonage device is the phone line (the ethernet port is empty). I have no problems whatsoever with the Vonage. Have you tried hooking it up that way?

Thanks for your response. To answer your question, see my set current setup below.

DSL Ethernet modem> Vonage device > Wireless router > Wired computer. The reason for the Vonage being connected to the wireless is to feed the internet to it in order to get it to my computer. My DSL modem has only one ethernet port.

How do you get the internet to your Vonage device if it's not connected to you DSL cable modem?

Anyway, I tried one more trick, I deleted port 5061 from being forwarded and used port 10000 - 20000UDP only and my calls are very clear for now, I will be monitoring it to see if it keeps up.

My Vonage device is hooked up to the router along with my computer. The cable modem hooks up to the 4 port router. It works just fine that way.
