I have been using Vonage exclusively since July and got rid of Verizon(both my wife and I have cell phones as back-up). No issues at all. Right in the beginning, my VMI (Voice Mail Indicator) on my phone was not working. They sent me a replacement adaptor, and since then I have not had to call Vonage Cust Svc even once, not had to re-boot the ATA, not had to do anything at all! A couple of times people have told me that when they tried my phone, it went straight to VM (like a cell phone thats switched off). But except those couple of times, no problems at all. No issues with voice quality, though situations when the phone and the internet is being used simultaneously is not very common. I make international calls all the time (either directly through Vonage, or by dialing a toll-free number/phone card) and not once has a call dropped. I also tested 911 after I had set it up, and it did get routed to the call center at my local Fire Dept.
I am totally happy with the entire setup. I dont mess with it, and it doesn't mess with me!!! (I hope I have not jinxed it by writing about it!!!)
I work as a systems analyst, and when I told my colleagues that my home phone system is Voip, they were suitably impressed! So in addition to everything else, the 'cool' factor tops it off! |
