Yes. Stop using Vonage, or any Voip provider, for that matter, for your business. IMO, Voip isn't robust enough to trust business needs on it. |

Vonage has been in this business for 4 years i believe and right now they are taking over sunrocket customers..that should be a good sign that they will be with this here for a long time |

This is incorrect, Vonage Maybe "Trying" to grab some sunrocket customers, but they have not struck a deal with sunrocket or Sherwood Partners. |

Voip is extremely cost effective if your business uses a lot of long distance, and it can be a very reliable tool if you use a little common sense.
If the business has a single phone line, buy a stripped down bare bones POTS line to use only in the event of a Voip outage. If you have more than one line, by them from different carriers. It is highly unlikely that 2 different carriers would suffer an outage simultaneously.
And if you absolutely, positively must have the most reliable Voip service, buy from one of the ILECs (cough... Ma Bell... cough) that have multi-billion dollar networks and a century of telco experience, more lawyers than you can count, deep-deep pockets, and own their own patents. |

I am in Canada. I use Bell's Single Number Reach (SNR) for my permanent, public business number. It is not a phone line. It allows me to simul-ring to my Vonage # and cell #. This gives me the option to change Voip provider or cell provider at anytime. |

Despite the experience, money, lawyers and patents, you will get outages from ILECS. The current business I own has had a problem with phone service at least once every six months on average during the last five years.
I have Vonage at home and although have never noticed an outage with Vonage. I am only moderately happy with the service however due to my DSL quality. But I am saving 50% and the international service is a great deal. |

I think they're in a lot of financial trouble. For all practical purposes they're no longer honoring the 30 day money back guarantee. When you call to cancel under it they charge your credit card another $39.99 disconnect fee. They claim they'll refund it when they receive the equipment back. Tomorrow (Monday) will be 3 weeks since they received the equipment back. They issued a credit to my CLOSED Vonage account when they received the equipment back but can't explain why the $200 they credited me hasn't been credited back to my credit card.
I think they're so broke they need the money they owe customers for day to day operating expenses. |

hmm... do you think your $200 is really going to help a company like Vonage stay afloat? i think all the legal crap that verizon put them through scared a bunch of Vonage customers into jumping ship. that may have shook them up a bit but if the company were in that much financial trouble as you describe, they'd fold. there would be no end in sight to ever coming out ahead and they're in way to deep to be able to "take the money and run". and as a company, they're not looking to screw anyone... i think they have a lot of training issues and possibly even some procedural issues going on. you do have recourse to get your money back besides talking to them about it. you can file a complaint with the BBB or you can take them to small claims court. you can also file with your state's attorney general. if enough people that were having these kinds of problems filed these complaints with them, then the state would step in. |
