If you cancel under the "30 day money back guarantee" Vonage doesn't refund the money to your credit card, they only refund it to your closed account with Vonage. I've contacted Vonage but all I got was vague excuses about it taking 10 business days after they issue the internal credit for them to refund the money. It's been well over that.
With the news about Sun Rocket folding this makes me wonder how close Vonage is to folding also. Legitimate companies in good financial health don't refuse to return money they admit is owed to ex-customers.
When I mentioned my problems getting the money back on a RV related forum others chimed in saying they'd been unable to get their money back under the "guarantee". |

as far as i know the refund will be pushed back to your card 7 to 10 business days after they receive the device back from you. |

nicegurl,
They quote 10 business days if you call. At this point it's been 13 business days (17 calendar) since they received the equipment back and issued the credit to my CLOSED Vonage account and they can't explain why it hasn't been refunded to the credit card or when it will. When I contact them they just quote the 10 business day number.
Another indication that it's deliberate fraud is the fact that when you close an account under the 30 day guarantee they charge your credit card another $39.99 "Disconnect Charge".
I think Vonage is so broke that they can't afford to issue the credit card refunds. Legitimate companies refund the charge immediately.

I FINALLY got the money back. It took 35 days after they received the equipment back and issued the internal credit to get the money credited back to my credit card.
I don't think I'd have ever gotten the money back if it hadn't been enough money ($200.00) that I was annoyed enough to keep after them week after week. They count on you giving up since most people are only owed small amounts like $40.00.
In all it took 4 phone calls and 30 emails to get the money they credited my closed Vonage account credited back to my credit card. It wasn't as if they were denying they owed me the money, they just kept claiming their billing computers are so messed up they couldn't return the money.
The last 2 weeks I searched the web for every email address I could find @vonage.com and started sending the refund demands to all of them. I even emailed their reps at two public relations firms that work for Vonage. That may be the only way to get them to do anything. |

You could always call up your credit card company and tell them that they credited your account but haven't posted the refund and dispute the original charge. |
